Scattered around the towns of Tuakau, Waiuku, Pukekohe and further afield are some wonderfully painted electrical transformers a good number painted by KS Lee. This example can be found on Fleet St in the seaside suburb or Glenbrook Beach.

This mural on Main St in Katikati was created in 2013 by nearly 400 artists of all ages. Each artist painted a small square in a preset pattern which were then assembled together to create this pixelated artwork called The Face of Culture.

2019 saw artist @paulxwalsh travel to Taupo to take part in the annual Graffiato Street Art festival. His contribution to the ever growing array of murals in the towns back alleys is this lens ball image of the lake and surrounds.

The Cook Status in Victoria Square, Christchurch was created by local sculptor William Trethewey who was also responsible for the nearby Category I listed heritage structure The Citizens' War Memorial. The Cook Statue was unveiled on the 10 of August 1932 by then Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe. Created in 1972 by Guy Ngan OBE (1926 - 2017) this bronze sculpture, located on the side of the Reserve Bank building, is made up of what look like a number of geometric shapes but look closely to see symbols that represent a waka and a hand holding a taiaha. The artist intended the sculpture to represnt the solidity and strength of New Zealand’s central bank

This traffic light control box was painted by self taught Gisborne artist Amie Coker (@amiecokerartist) in 2018. The painting, full of the colours of spring, can be found on the corner of Gladstone Rd and Peel St in the heart of Gisborne.

Take a walk down Emerson Street in Napier to find this bronze sculpture by Lyttleton artist Mark Whyte. The sculpture, installed in 2009, was modelled on Sheila Williams and her greyhound Raven.

Insane51 is a Greek mural artist, based in Athens, he was invited to paint one of his signature murals for the Street Prints Papaioea held in 2020 in Palmerston North. Insane51 uses red and blue paints to create 3D murals that when viewed with a red/blue filter show different images. This mural is a portatit of New Zealand street artist Askew One (Elliot O'Donnell).

The Nelson suburb of Stoke is home to this mural of a Kaka created by Charles and Janine Williams in 2018. The mural is called Raise which translate to Whakatu the traditional name for the Nelson region.

Westport artist Peter Hollis was commissioned by the Buller District Council in 2000 to create a mural on the side wall of the public toilets on Palmerston St in Westport. His mural depicts a scene of workers sluicing for gold at Soldier's Creek in Reefton around 1860/1870s. The mural is based on a drawing by Hugh Boscaven.

Judging by the art style we think that this @chorusnz cabinet was painted by Rebecca Ter Borg @RebeccaterBorgIllustration. You can find the cabinet on Polygon Rd in St Heliers. Thanks to Fraser Elder for sending in the photos.

This sculpture called Reach is the work of Christchurch artist Graham Bennett. The artwork, created in 2008, can be found along Ardmore Rd in Wanaka near the start of the Wanaka Lake bike trail.

The Opotiki Youth Art Mural project began in 2008 to engage young artists to give the town a fresh vibrant artistic flavour and reduce the amount of graffiti that was causing local businesses wasted time and effort to constantly remove. This mural, funded by Blue Light, a registered charity that works in partnership with the police, shows the history of the catholic community in the Eastern Bay of Plenty town, including the first settlers church built in 1846.

This mural called 'The Few What are Left' was created by Spanish artist Sabek in 2017 for the Napier Sea Walls festival. It shows the future for the whales that visit our coastal waters if we continue with our current fishing practices.

Located along the Kaikoura peninsula Fyffe House is a wooden colonial cottage built in 1844 by Scotsman Robert Fyffe, a heritage building available to view by visitors to the area. In the grounds of the house you will find Pou Tangaroa a carved post that tells the history of Maori occupation of this land and their connection to the sea. Kaulukukui Kai is an Hawaiian artist who has produced a number of large scale murals and participated in several of the Pangaseed Seawall festivals. This mural is his contribution to the Tairawhiti festival held in 2018.

This massive wall along Anglesea St in Hamilton is known as Te Koopuu Mania o Kirikiriroa. In early 2020 a collective of three artists were given the task to create this eye catching mural on the 248 metre long wall. Poihakena Ngawati, Hana Maihi, and Te Haunui Tuna took on the project despite the obvious challenges that included preparing the canvas which had needed to have years of dirt and grim cleaned from it before any painting could begin. The end product though was well worth the effort as it has become a source of pride for all those involved.

The Tauranga Eastern Link is home to two large scale sculptures by Regan Gentry one of which is Bound Around, New Zealands largest public artwork. The design for the sculpture was based around the form of a pa site with the rings resembling the land form patterns that make up the contoured gardens that would normally surround a pa site. The structure of the sculpture has a connection to the roadway itself having been made from recycled road barriers.

This mural on the outside wall of the ASB Waterfron Theatre in Auckland Viaduct was painted in 2018 by Gary Silipa in collaboration with Anoma. The mural presents an image of the earths future in the year 2048 with a sad subtext 'Sorry we didn't do anything sooner'.

Moko was a bottlenosed dolphin who became a local attraction around the eastern bays of the North Island as he travelled from Gisborne to Whakatane and on to Tauranga. In March 2008 Moko made the headlines when he was instrumental in rescuing two stranded pygmy sperm whales that the Department of Conservation and other workers had been trying to refloat. Moko arrived on the scene and guided the whales through a narrow channel and out to the safety of the sea. This sculpture by artist Jeffrey Bowlin can be found in Whakatane near the visitor centre overlooking the Whakatane River.

Sean Duffells murals often cartoonish forest creatures intertwined in lush green vegetation but in this creation for the 2018 Tairawhiti Seawalls festival he hs gone for a rich underwater scene of seaweed providing both nourishment and safehaven for creatures of the deep.

This mural can be found at the bus terminal on the corner of Carlyle and Tennyson Streets in Napier the city known for its art deco buidlings built after the 1931 earthquake. The mural showing a number of people in period dress of the time was painted in 2015 by New Zealand artist Freeman White.

Tuwing by Phil Price was created in 2009. The sculpture is made from up of two arms of steel, fibreglass and carbon fibre mounted on titanium bearings. This kinetic sculpture which pivots in the gentlest breeze can be found in the centre of a roundabout as you approach the International Terminal at Auckland Airport.
