Claudelands RdIn 2015 Eliza Webster created this mural in Hamilton in the underpass on Claudelands Rd as it dips under River Rd. The mural shows a number of figures in athletic poses reminiscent of dancers or gymnasts. Eliza is a creative director at Skinroom an independent artist-run space in Frankton, Hamilton.

Jurassic ParadiseShane Walker (Shane Walker Artworks) is a self taught artist from Mt Maunganui who has created a number of murals around the Bay of Plenty, this mural called Jurassic Paradise is located on Jocelyn St in Katikati.

The Secret GardenThe painting on this Chorus cabinet was inspired by the book 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The artist Celine Giovanni wanted to remind passersby to use their childhood imaginations and enjoy the idea of escaping from the daily commute through the secret door.

Body Language - Spirit of PlaceThis three-metre high cast bronze sculpture by Terry Stringer ONZM was commissioned by the Palmerston North Public Sculpture Trust. Adapted for Palmerston North from the artist's Body Language series, the sculpture is made up of body fragments: a head, a hand and a foot. The head, with a winged temple, suggests thoughts taking flight, and faces in the direction of Massey University and International Pacific College. The hand holds a horn of plenty and is oriented towards the boutique shopping and cafe area. The foot, as seen from The Square-facing side, holds a rose between its toes, reflecting the enjoyment of nature that can take place in The Square

Sled DogSled Dog by Mark Whyte was gifted by the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Antarctic Society to the Christchurch City Council in 2016. Antarctic Huskie were used as working dogs at Scott base up until 1994, this sculpture, situated outside the Lyttelton Library, is slightly larger than a real Huskie. As the plaque explains the sculpture celebrates the contribution of Lyttelton to exploration in Antartica and the Southern Ocean with the sled dog being a symbol of courage, commitment and comradeship. Pukuatua StOn 2017 a number of the power boxes around the Rotorua CBD were given a refresh. This one on the corner of Pukuatua St and Fenton St was painted by retired school teacher Jean Vandermolen.

Blacklock AveHere is a brand new painted transformer in the Henderson area (on Blacklock Ave), so new the wet paint sign was still there when we took this photograph. The artwork is by Tores, a member of the Kakano Youth Arts Collective.

The Cloak of TiaThe Cloak of Tia by renowned glass artist Lynden Over takes the form of twin 3m glass towers that can be found outside the entrance of the Great Lake Centre in Taupo. The sculpture is made up of 4,000 individually hand crafted pieces of glass that together represent the feathers from the Cloak of Tia. Tia was an early explorer who came to Aotearoa aboard the Te Arawa canoe, his travels brought him to the centre of the North Island were he discovered Lake Taupo. At one point he came across a formation of rock that the thought resembled the great cloak or taupo that he carried with him, from this he gave the place the name 'Te Taupo nui ä Tia' (The Great Cloak of Tia).

Delamare RdThis exceloo can be found on Delamare Rd as it passes underneath Wairere Dr in St Andrews, Hamilton. It was painted by Alex McLeod (Alex McLeod Art) as part of the Tagbusters initiative of the Hamilton Council in an effort to combat anti-social tagging of public toilets and bus shelters.

The People WeaverThis massive mural on Selwyn St in Onehunga is the creation of Bobby MacDonald of Oxy Art. Bobby MacDonald is mural artist and owner of Oxy Art a visual arts business based in Onehunga. The mural recognises the work in the community of Amiria Puia-Taylor (the People Weaver) who is a co-founder of the thriving community hub in Onehunga. Aside from the work that Amiria performs in the community she is herself a trained visual artist and community muralist with over ten years of experience. RavensbourneOver a period of 15 years John Noakes painted a series of murals on 65 of the bus stops around Dunedin. Since his passing in 2006 local artist Daniel Mead has continued the tradition of decorating bus stops around the city. This mural by Daniel shows the view across the nearby pedestrian rail over bridge leading to the Ravensbourne Boating Club. The photo was kindly supplied by Sam and Paul Corliss

EncounterThe Encounter Sculpture by Judd Bailey and Mark Southcombe represents the meeting of two peoples. The figure on the right, closest to Putiki, represents the Putiki Maori and features the 'Takarangi Spiral' in perforated metal. The figure on the left represents the Manuhiri (visitors) and features the Whanganui city grid which was introduced by the European settlers. The black plinth is black sanded concrete containing shell from local beaches. In addition to representing a greeting to Whanganui, the sculpture also acknowledges the historic significance of Putiki as a meeting place of cultures.
