Manukau CityA number of these boxes have been painted around the Manukau City area all with a similar theme of seascape and native flora. None of them have any signature so we are still looking to find out the name of the artist. If you know please add a comment to this post.

DevonportFrom his website the artist says...'Born and raised in Grey Lynn, Component taught himself the art of stenciling. The street was his canvas, his means for critiquing society.' Component has a number of murals dotted around Auckland, this one in Victoria Rd Devonport.

Brylee Drive ReserveNew mural location on the map. The Pahurehure Inlet and wetlands around the Brylee Drive reserve is home to a number of native and at risk birds. This mural by Dan Mills shows two of these, Tuturiwhatu (NZ Dotterel) and Torea (South Island Pied Oystercatcher)

Promise BoatUpdated the map entry for Promise Boat by Louise Purvis. Carved in Bardiglio marble on a basalt plinth this sculpture can be viewed in the lower part of the Auckland Domain.

Pou KapuaThe largest Māori / Pacific Pou / totem in the world reaching over 24 metres in height and weighing over 20 tonnes, Pou Kapua is carved from 2,000 year old magnificent ancient Kauri from the forests of the northern tribes, 50,000 year old swamp kauri, 1,000 year old totara, supported with carved steel, and adorned with paua, pounamu, bone and crystal.

BeaconsBeacons by Jim Vivieaere is located outside the Fale Pasifica in the Auckland University. Made of stainless steel and galvanised stainless steel pipe the sculpture features images of frigatebirds, a subtropical bird common to the pacific islands, and was designed to welcome visitors to the fale. Recent;y added to the NZ Outdoor Art map.

Avondale Community CentreNuma Mackenzie was born and raised in Canada though being of Cook Island and Anglo descent his love of art and island culture eventually brought him home, first to Rarotonga then to his current home in Auckland. One of his latest projects this mural adorns the exterior of the Avondale Community Centre.

Lost, FoundXu Li created a number of small scale figurines and located them along the outside ledge of building D in the AUT Auckland Campus. Named 'Lost, Found' they were originally painted in light shades the colours have unfortunately faded over time. BTW if the images here on Facebook seem small then head over to the NZ Outdoor Art Map, each marker has the images in a medium size format as well as the higher res original.
