On the grass outside the Claudelands Arena in East Hamilton stands Te Pumanawa o Te Whenua - Beat Connection by Seung Yul Oh. The design of the sculpture resembles a heart beat graph and represents the role the arena plays as the life and centre of many community activities.

Upon a Pond

In 2017 Korean-New Zealand artist Seung Yul Oh created two sculptural works for the Albany Stadium Pool, Drop a Loop and this interactive piece called Upon a Pond. Designed to resemble bendy straws and bubbles the sculpture has an interactive element with vents that emit jets of steam to encourage people to play around the sculpture.
