"This electrical transformer is painted on all four sides with the two paintings on the box repeated on the opposite sides. As the inscription above the larger of the painting states it shows Maria Armanasco and her two sons William and Victor outside their homestead circa 1920. The Armanasco homestead, a four roomed colonial cottage, was originally located on Blockhouse Bay Rd but was gifted to the Blockhouse Bay Community and moved to its current location at the Village Green in 1990. The historic homestead was refurbished with volunteer labour and funding from the Portage Licencing Trust and the Avondale Community Board."

"Blockhouse Bay is awash with murals by Louis Statham. Bearly Used Books shows the bay at high tide and in full colour, a little unusual for Louis as most of his murals are monochromatic."
