Kakano Youth Arts Collective

Based in Studio 6 at the Corban Estate Arts Centre the Kakano Youth Arts Collective is made up of a group of highly talented West Auckland young artists aged 13 – 21yrs. Kakano began in 2013 as a pilot programme to support some of our most vulnerable young people, and is now a fully-fledged unique visual arts programme run by Creative Director Mandy Patmore, alongside passionate and experienced arts practitioners and educators. Youth from the programme have been mentored by other members of the arts community such as Bobby Hung (Berst) and Jonny4Higher, and have created an ever growing number of commissioned murals around Henderson and West Auckland.
