Joel Hart

Joel Hart is a Christchurch based artist, designer and illustrator whose works are inspired by popular culture using themes of both love and beauty but often also include overlaid visual elements of death and decay. His outdoor artworks include both large scale murals and smaller pieces on Chorus cabinets found dotted around the city centre and suburbs of Christchurch. Joel Hart often includes written sub-texts in his pieces asking the viewer to appreciate the graphic form of the artwork as well as to read these texts and connect to the art in a deeper fashion.
