Caroline Robinson

Caroline Robinson is an artist, designer, author and a facilitator of large scale public infrastructor projects. Born in Stratford, Taranaki in 1968 Caroline's interests saw her complete her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology at Massey University in Palmerston North. Caroline was one of the founding creative team members for 'The Big Idea' the online hub for New Zealand's creative people. In 1990 she founded CABAL, a creative studio that works with communities to facilitate civic construction projects that integrate art and cultural practices into urban environments with the goal of regenerating land and structures to reconnect them with the people. Her sculptures and constructions feature stone and steel imbuing a sense of durability and quality while weaving in stories of history, culture and mythology. As an author Caroline has produced two books, the first, 'Panmure Sense of Place Scrapbook', is a 100 page full colour book with over 600 photographs and artworks, while the other, 'The Artist's Workbook' was commissioned by New Zealand's Artist Alliance.
