Alex McLeod
From Hamilton Alex McLeod is an artist whose first passion is large scale artworks. He has created a number of outdoor murals around Hamilton on various toilet blocks, playgrounds, bridges and even a water reservoir. Completed in 2016 the water reservoir mural on Forest Lake Rd, made up of five panels about 4 metres wide by 6 metre high, saw Alex receive an award for his efforts. Alex, who has a background in graphic design and illustration, specialises in murals with a community focus, using bright colourful designs to foster a sense of pride in our public spaces. Alex has worked alongside the Hamilton City Council Tagbusters team to add bold eye-catching mural designs to some public facilities, an effort which has seen a reduction of destructive tagging around the city.
